American Idol flashback Bucky Covington and Kenny Rogers

I can still remember this night like it was yesterday. It's funny because half the time my memory fails me on the simple things. This is one of my most favorite performances from Bucky Covington. Kenny Rogers indicated that "Bucky does it well" and even Simon liked it.
Well if you have been around since the American Idol days you will remember this night also. It was country week, and Bucky had the pimp spot on the show. Pimp spot means the last performance of the night. For those who were not around during this exciting time you missed some great laughs and lots of memories. It was the "good old days" when everyone would log on and converse back and forth about Bucky. It was special because many of Bucky's family would join in on the board like Mama Tee, Special Mother and others. We talked about everything from sweet tea to going commando. It was just a very special time and many long lasting friendships were made on the "Bucky Covington" board. It was like a large extended family that also included many other fan bases from Season 5. Flashback to the morning of this performance on the American Idol boards. A thread was started and something written to the effect that the fans wanted to see if a message would be relayed to Bucky on this night. We were not sure if Bucky actually ever read the boards, but this was our chance to see. It was written that during his performance this night...that if he would touch his heart we would know it was for us. Now, it was never actually confirmed if Bucky knew about this little test or not, but low and behold during his performance he actually touches his heart. Was it for us? We thought so, and how endearing it was to watch his performance that night. There were other little things during different performances that lead us to believe he knew about us and appreciated the time and effort we had put into voting for him. We knew deep down inside that he appreciated us. Now almost 3 years later, we still know he appreciates his fans because he proves it over and over.
